About Us
Amano Goods is a workshop and retail space in Echo Park, Los Angeles, offering bespoke leather goods and curated vintage. We are driven by a philosophy of durability, quality, and raw, timeless design, and specialize in handcrafting leather goods—belts, wallets, and accessories—built to endure.
At the core of our operation is master craftsman, Adan, who brings over 15 years of leatherworking expertise to every cut and stitch. He founded Amano in 2021, in the heart of the pandemic, with a desire to bring the in-house atelier experience back to retail. If Adan is the heart of Amano, then Monica is the soul; Since she joined in 2023, Monica has brought her wealth of experience into expanding operations and keeping Adan focused on worthwhile distractions.

About our Leathers
We are committed to using the best leathers in the world, made using time-honored methods. We wholeheartedly believe that when ethically sourced and tanned, leather is among the most sustainable materials available. Specifically, Vegetable Tanned Leather (tanned using organic vegetation material like tree bark) is an environmentally friendly material that is a byproduct of the meat industry. It lasts for decades, reduces overconsumption and fast fashion, and will return to the earth rather than sit in a landfill for hundreds of years like plastic alternatives.
We source exclusively from tanneries that meet or exceed strict environmental regulations, and that tan strictly using traditional methods. Most of our small goods leathers come from tanneries in Italy, specifically Tuscany where the vegetable tanning tradition can be traced back thousands of years. Several examples are the famous Conceria Walpier and Badalassi Carlo tanneries, favored by luxury brands worldwide. We source our belt leathers from the UK and the US, where the Hermann Oak, J&FJ Baker, and Sedgwick tanneries have been focused on producing durable equestrian leathers for over a century.
Workmanship
Every Amano product is made by hand using traditional methods. While we do use machines to streamline efficiency, we still rely entirely on hand-craftsmanship and time-honored techniques, honed over decades of experience. From saddle-stitching by hand, to beveling and burnishing edges, to cutting straps with our 100 year old strap cutter, we are committed to providing the highest quality of handmade leather goods without cutting corners.
